Shab-e-Barat will be observed on 11 May

Azim Aunon: Holy Shab-e-Barat will be observed on May 11 as Shaban moon has been sighted in Bangladesh sky.

The National Moon Sighting Committee took the decision at a meeting held at the Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram office in the evening.

It is regarded as a night when the fortunes of men for the coming year are decided and when Allah may forgive sinners.

On the day, Muslim devotees offer special prayers, recite from the holy Quran, hold milad, zikr and perform other religious rituals throughout the night.
